MATAU ROAD BOARD,
The annual meeting of tlio Mafcau Road Board was held at Mr Smith's house on Wednesday at 2 p.m. There were present : Messrs Inglis (chairman), Smith, M'Donald, Moslcy, and Bell. (CLXXX AND COLLECTOR. Applications for these oflices were received, as follows: — J. M'Kinlay, £32; Win. Inglis, £20 ; Robert M'Keime, £31 10s. Mr M'Kinlay was appointed to the oflices. TENDERS FOR BOXES. Five tenders wore received for box No. 1, across the road at the school!) ou.so* The lowest tender, that of William Watts, £51 10s, was accepted. For box No. 2, across road between Messrs Mosloy and Bell's, there were live tenders. The lowest, that of William Neil, £64, was accepted. HLA.CE AND 3fOUR OF MEETING. It was resolved in future to hold the meetings of the Board in the schoolhonse, Inch Clutha, at 2 p.m., on the last Saturday of each month . N7SW MEMBER. Mr J. C. Anderson v/.is elected member for the North Molyneux Subdivision, in room of Mr R. Maedonald, resigned. BOARD OP CONSERVATORS. The Chairman was re-elected a member of the Board of Conservators for the Clutha River. KATTANGATA PUNT. The Clerk was instructed to apply for £20 rent still clue by Mr Punnet, late lessee of the Kaitangata punt, and to intimate that unless paid immediately, legal proceedings would be taken for its recovery. DEVIATION 'FENCE. Mr 11. M'Konzio requested that 'tho fence at the approach to the Matau Bridge be at once erected according to. the survey recently made. — Request agreed to. ROAD ACROSS THE ISLAND. A petition was received from settlors iii Inch Clutha, asking that a road be formed across the Island. Messrs .Kirknoss and Smith appeared as a deputation in support of the petition. It was resolved that tenders bo called for the work. The meeting then adjourned.
