Centlemen, — Having been requested by a number of my fellow-settlers, whose opinions I value highly, to allow myself to be nominated' for election as one of the members of the Clinton Riding, I now, after having carefully considered the time, the attention, and the responsibibty that will devolve upon the office, place my services at your disposal. In the initiation of any new system, there are often considerable difficulties to contend with, but I can assure you it will ever be my endeavour to conserve your be "$t interests in administering the powers conferred upon us by the Counties Act.
