AN EXPLANATION.
TO THB EDITOR. Sir, - 1 do not now read the Bruce Herald, but I am informed the creature who at present degrades .the office of Editor to that journal feels yery much aggrieved that no one. considered him worthy of a cheese, a ham, or. a few pounds of , butter out -of the lot exhibited at the late Show, and considering the neglect with which he has thus been treated, he wonders how 'the public of Tokomairiro imagines he can live. Will you allow me to make an 'explanation ? We had plenty of mind of him, and tried to get something to send him to eat suitable to. the clas. of, .beings to which 'we all regard him as bel&ng-ing,-but there was nothing of the kind exhibited. We agreed that should he be,k*ept in connection with the p*j.per till the seed show, that we would subscribe and purchase a few pf>!Mr White's carrota, arid ikrow a bunch, to him..- So he may live in hope of a good feed for once. This we considered was the class of exhibit he wnuld most relish. — I am, &c, , Lady Exhibitor; Tokomairiro, December 14; 1876.
