' His eyes glance quick, and his-fingersipick; ; The type at a rapid pace ; ' .■-•.• And one by one as the' letters go; V i' Words are piled up steady, aad slow -. , Steady and slow . > • But still 'they 'grow, ' Aud ivbrdsof fire they soon will glow) Wonderful words.that withoufc y a, sound - Traverse the earth to its utmost bound ; Words that shall make The tyrant quake, Ami;the lexers of the .oppressed shall .break ; Words that can crumbloan army's imglit*}* Or -treble its;streangt'h'ma righteo.usfnghfc. Yet they look but leaden andgdumb, ~'\ As he puts~th'ein in place' ivith finger and thumb ■ - r But the printer smiles, ;. .And his work beguiles, ' : / By chanting' a song as thVletteiis he piiesV - ; Wibhtpick and click; ='; Like the "World's thrononieter, tick ! tick ! tick!
