Matau Boad Board.
The Matau Road Board beid the ordinary meeting on the 26th inst., at noou. There were present, Messrs Inglis (Chairman), T. M'Doaald, Smith, and R. M'Donald..

The balance sheet wa3 laid before tbe Board for the year ending SO:h June, 1875. The same was ordered to be published iv the local paper for two issuea. A letter from Mr Ferguson was laid be fore the Board in reference to two outlets for cattle watering from Main road tn the river— the extension of those gapf caused by the cattle traffic interfering with the road — making traffic dangerous at those points. The Board resolved to have the matter rectified immediately. Another letter was presented from Mr Gilroy in connection with the road -line from his property alongside of Mr Smaill's property, a portion of which road has been wasned away by the river, and Mr Scnaill having placed a gate afc tbis portion of his property, can, by locking said gate, debar Mr Gilroy ftom access to his property by river bank.
After due discusdon, the Board agreed to solicit legal advice in connection with the matter, as a guidance in their acting with similar cases in future.
Messfrs Reginald M'Donald, Thorn*, s M'Donald, Peter Smith, and George Inglis were appointed a punt committee for the current year. The Clerk was instructed to write to Henry Clark, Eeq., M P. C, Matau district, asking him to use his influence with the Government for tte immediate commence" ment of improvements at Kaitangata punt, and also for immediate action ia connection with the bridge.
It was agreed that the rates for the current year be discussed and fixed at next meeting. The meeting then adjourned.
