PROVINCIAL COUNCIL.
Dunedin, Wednesday, 8 p.m. The business transacted in the Council to-day was unimportant, The Government proceeded with the bills. The Port Molyneux Reserves Management Bill passed. . On the motion of Mr M'Neil, the Clutha River Conservators Board Ordinance was referred to a select committee, consisting of the Speaker and MeaSrsrßeid; Henderson, Clark, Tolmie, Dr Menzies, and the mover. The Roads Ordinance" was recommitted to enable the Government to prepare a compulsory clause by which the cost of making and maintaining roads dividing road districts from municipalities should be provided for' jointly by the Municipal Councils and the Road Boards.
Yesterday afternoon, soon after the debate on the Executive had been adjourned till the evening sitting, Mr Steward (who had voted against the late Government) gave notice of his intention '* to move at the next sitting day " (to-day) u that the, Executive,; as at present constituted, does not command the confidence of the Council."
