'Maclean Bros, report:— Telegraphic advices from the home market, report a slight improvement in values towards the close of the February Bales, and judging by tbe priced catalogues to hand, that improvement was much needed. 280,000 bales had arrived on tbe •,'Sth April, for the May- June sales, which had been arranged to commence on Ith May and close on 23rd Juue ; but a very considerable addition to the above named quantity was expected before the commencement of the sales, embracing a fair amount of Sew Zealand wools. Wright, Stephenson, & Co. report .-—The cablegram received by the Omeo, and dated London, 4th May, reports as folio v.-s:—" The colonial wool sales have been opened. The attendance of buyers was large, and competition brisk.
