The Toll Bars.

■» The annual leasing- of the toll bars for the year ending the 31st March, 1876, took place at Dunedin on Tuesday. The Balclutha bridge, let last year for L 550. was this year knocked down to Mr William Reay, cf Stoney Creek, for L6lO. Stoney Creek bar, let last year for L3OO. was knocked down to Mr W. Chalker for L 205. The total sum realised for tolls this year amounted to L 9,555, as against LIO,OBO last year, which leaves a deficiency of L 525. Besides those stated above, the different gates let aa follows : —
