Love, alas f is but a flame, . But a whiaper, but a name ;. Each new fancy flits away. Lasting but an hour, a day. Yes; love, alas lin days like these* Is fickle, cold, and hard to please *, Ah! too like the transient beam Of sunshine on some troubled stream. And if one should learn to love, Taught the lesson from above, Soon that trusting heart will know Love is but a name for woe.
