The Waitapeka Deviation.
. t * We are indebted to Mr D. Henderson, M.P.C., for a perusal of the following communication relative to the proposed deviation bv Waitapeka : — .'• Wellington, 6th January, 1875. " Sir. — Since my return here T have, laid before the Hon. the Minister of Public Works, the, memo of the deputation which waited upon me r? the Clntha and Mataura Railway. He informs me that th« engineer-in- chief (Mr Carruthers) will personally visit the proposed line within a month, and that until receipt of his report the Government will not decide which route will be followed — 1 am, &c, William Reynolds."
