LETTERS. ' I. Town letters posted at any Post Office ! within the Colony for delivery at or from such Post Office — Not exceeding half an ounce - Id. Exceeding half an ounce and not exceeding one ounce - - 2d. For every half ounce, or fraction of half an ounce above one ounce ----- id. n. Country letters posted at any Post Office within the Colony for delivery at or from any Post Office within the Colony — Not exceeding half an. ounce - 2d. Exceeding half an ounce but not exceeding one ounce - - 4d. For every half ounce or fraction of half an ounce abov.e one ounce - - - - 2d. 111. Australian Colonies— Not exceeding half an ounce - 2d. Exceeding half an ounce but not exceeding one ounce - - 4d. For every half ounce, or fraction of half an ounce above one ounce - - - - 2d. Except Bolivia, Chili, Ecuador, add Peru, fojc which the rates are— not exceeding an ounce Is: 6d. For every additional half ounce or fraction bf half an ouoce Is 6d. United Kingdom same as via Suez. Continent of Europe, &c, via the United Elngdora, same as via Suez. If a letter be posted wholly unpaid, the letter must be detained and dealt with according to rule 153. If a letter addressed to any place within the Colony be not sufficiently prepaid with postage stamps, but nevertheless 'bear a postage stamp of the value of one penny, the letter, must be forwarded charged with double the amount of the deficient postage. If a letter liable to more than one rate of postage, and addressed to any place in the United 1 Kingdom, the Colonies of New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania, Western Australia, be prepaid with one rate, at least, the letter must be forwarded charged with the deficiency and > fin amount equal to one rate as a fine; but a letter addressed to any other colony or foreign conntry, if not fully prepaid, must be detained and dealt with according to rule 153.
