SIR- WILLIAM WALLACE ia a dark dapple bay, with black points and splendid action, and is noted as a sure foal getter. SIR WILLIAM WALLACE was bred by John Ross, Esq., Forest Hill, Smeatdii,' Victoria. His sire was tbe far-famed and wellknown pure-bred Clydesdale stallion, Major, imported by J. and W. Dougal, Escott, Victoria. Major was bred by the weU-known breeder W. Fulton, Sproulton,! Scotland. Major's sire, Clyde Boy, sire of Sir Walter Scott, the grandest stal ion "ever Scotland produced. Major's prizes are too numerous to mention. Major's dam, Princess Royal, Sir William Wallace, dam Jenny. Jenny was exhibited fifteen times, and gained thirteen first prizes and one second in 1865; she was awarded the champion prize at Ballarat for the best mare in tbe yard, either imported or colonial, with seventeen competitors. ,, In 1872 at tbe same place she gained the first prize with three of her progeny; also in 1873 at the Grand Natioaal Show, held at Smeaton, Victoria, she was awarded the first prize with three of her progen jr. ; „ - SIR WILLIAM WALLACE *wr s shown eeven times; and gained cis firet'andone second prize. He was shown at Ballarat, Smeaton, and Clunes as a yearling, and was awarded the first 'prize', at each place.
