Clutha Agricultural and Pastoral Association.
The annual meeting of Jhe $bpv§ society was held in the Crown Hotel, Balclutha, on Friday afternoon. There was a large attendance.
Mr. Peter Ayson having been called to the chair, explained that the meeting had been called for the purpose of -hearing the annual report of tbe Committee and the Treasurer, for tbe election of new office bearers and committee, and for arranging for the annual shows, etc., of the society. | The Secretary (Mr. A. D. Johnstone) explained that the Committee bad not thought it necessary to draw up a written report. The pa9t, he said, bad been the fir9t year the society had been placed upon an independent and self-supporting position, and taking all the circumstances into account, the shows of the society had been veiy successful. Their financial position, aa would appear from the Treasurer's report, was also satisfactory. The Treasurer (Mr. T. T, Ritc,h'e) reported — income :

In reply to Mr. Mosley the Secretary explained that the medals awarded at last ahow, bad not yet been received from Messrs. Harrop and Neill, but he expected to have tbem in the coarse ot a few weeks, when they would be handed to the owners. The following office bearers were elected for the tn<.uing year :—Presidtnt,. Mr. F. Roberts; Vice-Presdderit, Mr. Peter Ayson; S^cre-ary, Mr. J. S. Fhming; Treasurer, Mr. T. T. Ritchie. It was resolved th«t the .annual .walking show of entires be held at ; the Crown Hotel yards, Balclutha, on Friday, the 9th Oct., and that the "arihual stock 7 show shou-ld be heJd on Friday,- the 27#th,JXoy ember, - ; ~-. It was also "resolved that the prizes for entires b awarded at tbe annual jtock show anstead of at the walking show. . The working .committee fagreed to meet at 3 o'clock on the day of the walking show. The meeting then adjourned.
