Aust, profits increase
Australian company profits before income tax rose an unadjusted 9 per cent in the September quarter to sAust4.Bs billion from 54.448 in the June quarter, the Bureau of Statistics said. This compared with $4.288 in the September quarter a year earlier. Seasonally adjusted, company profits before income tax fell 4 per cent to $4.678 in the September quarter from 54.848 in the June quarter and compared with 54.098 in the September quarter a year earlier.
