Chch dancer off to Oz
Wendy Brough, aged 18, has won a place at the Australian National Theatre Ballet School, after auditioning by video. The National Theatre Ballet School, directed by Ann Jenner, is the only private school of dance subsidised by the Victorian Education Department. It offers professional training to students who wish to take up dance as a career.
Brough, a student of the Missevich Academy of Dance in Christchurch since she was nine years old, will be joining the full-time course at the advanced level. The school has its own full-sized theatre where full-time students participate regularly in specially choreographed ballets for public audiences. Brough leaves for Australia at the beginning of February.
