Joint peat project
A joint-venture peat project run by the USSR and the New Zealand Dairy Board at the village of Mitsulevka. on Sakhalin island, in the Soviet far east, has shipped its first samples to Australian and is filling an immediate order from Japan for 300 container loads. The project is also filling orders for the united States and Saudi Arabia, and Sovenz is discussing the creation of a different joint companv to convert a fishing fleet’s floating factory into a fish flour plant with a nominal capacity of 70 tonnes a day for export. Australia’s St George Building Society has declared an interim dividend of Aust7c a share <NZ9c a share) on permanent share capital for the six months to November 30. The fully franked dividend was positive considering the economic circumstances affecting the housing finance market. It would be credited to St George shareholders on December 4. the managing director. Mr Fred Shield, said. Shareholders received a total cash dividend of sAustl3c a share in the financial year ended May 31. The society's first bonus one-four-one share issue was issued on that d'ate. he said
