Man loses rape appeal
PA Wellington A horse trainer has lost his appeal against a rape conviction and the 5 and a half year jail term imposed. The Court of Appeal said it saw no grounds for concern at the jury’s guilty verdict. Neither
could it criticise the prison term imposed. lan Hansard, aged 44, was convicted in the High Court at WeF.ngton of raping a woman, aged 17, on October 27, 1987. He was jailed in May. this year.
