Response pleases chairman
By VALERIE McCLATCHY The Canterbury Regional Council has had a good response to its call for nominations to its committees, says its chairman, Mr Richard Johnson. The council asked for people to offer them-
selves for either the standing committees or the constituency liaison committees. They were required to have experience in either land, water or port management or a background in tourism, employment, forestry or recreation. The council has received a large number
of nominations, some of them from high-ranking members of former councils. Mr Johnson said that he was delighted at the level of interest in the Regional Council. Nominations will close on December 22 and the appointments will be made by mid-January.
