Ms Yvonne Holmes receives a Christmas card from Community Traffic Officer Brian Hopkins after passing a Ministry of Transport checkpoint yesterday. Christchurch health promotion groups and the Ministry of Transport have joined this year to bring a more positive aspect to Christmas drink-

driving blitzes. Sober drivers stopped at checkpoints will receive Christmas cards which can be sent into a draw for prizes donated by local businesses. Prizes to be won include theatre and concert tickets, records, T-shirts and rail travel vouchers. The campaign was organised by

Students Against Drunk Driving, the Alcoholic Liquor Advisory Council, Together to End Alcohol Misuse and the Ministry of Transport. A spokesman for T.E.A.M., Mr Tom Bolger, said the campaign aimed to reward responsible behaviour, instead of concentrating on the negative aspects of drunk driving.
