Renner protest
A special meeting of the New Brighton Athletics Club’s executive will be called tomorrow evening to discuss protest action at the omission of Peter Renner from the 5000 m event at the Commonwealth Games in Auckland. While Renner will compete in the steeplechase, club officials and Renner himself have criticised his being overlooked for the 5000 m after he had qualified and expressed enthusiasm to contest both events.
