Athlete dies in race
A 53-year-old British runner died while competing in the sixth international Costa de Calvia marathon race, the Spanish police reported yesterday. They said John Norman fell on the ground at the 34km mark of the 42km race. He was rushed to hospital but was dead on arrival.—NZPA-AP
