other hits the headlines, more and more people are looking for answers to the dilemmas facing our planet. Mention the word green, and many people think only of environmental issues, but green awareness also encompasses health, social justice, and our spirit-
ual connection to the Earth. An enthusiastic group of ‘greenies’ met recently in Christchurch to form a Green Network. The group has declared today Green Day — a day for spreading awareness and ideas. Any member of the public who would like to
contribute to a sharing of ideas and information meeting, is invited to the Green Network meeting this evening at 85 Bealey Avenue, starting at 7.30 p.m. Greg Kleis, who has been part of the Green Movement for 20 years, will speak on what a Green Party is all about. Discussion will centre on information gathering, public awareness and political action. The meeting is sponsored by the Foundation for the Healing Arts. For more information phone Anne at 370-311. Women’s Housie evening A Housie evening for women, to raise funds for the work of a women’s anti-racism group, will be held this Saturday, December 16. This will be at St Saviour’s Church Hall, on the corner of Colombo and Roxburgh Streets, from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thirty prizes are to be won. The $2 entrance fee covers supper. Drinks will be on sale.
