Business centre gets nod for next step

Allocation of the $20,000 needed to complete stage two of the St Asaph Business Centre has been approved by the Christchurch , City Council’s jobs and promotion special committee. The funding to convert and fit out stage two of the centre would

make it ready for tenants, a meeting of the committee was told. The co-operative Development Forum has spent $91,000 on stages one and two and is trading with a $32,000 overdraft. The committee was asked if

the council would repay the group for the capital costs of work at the centre, to accept financial responsibility for the completion of stage two, and to provide staff. The committee decided the question of reimbursement

should be discussed in February, along with staffing matters. • The committee recommended an information book about Christchurch be completed as part of the council’s City Image Campaign.
