Kirk weds The former All Black and rugby World Cup skipper, David Kirk, married his girlfriend of three years, Bridgit Atchison, in St Mary’s Church, Waipukurau, on Saturday. The traditional wedding was attended by a crowd dotted with All Blacks, including Grant Fox, Joe Stanley, Brian Lochore and John Kirwan as one of the groomsmen. The couple will live in London where Kirk, aged 29, works with a business management consultancy. Ms Atchison, aged 27, will be a cordon bleu chef. They met at a New Year’s Eve party in Hawke’s Bay and became engaged in July last year.—PA. Asset limits up The Government has increased asset limits for pensioner flats provided by local bodies and community groups to $17,500 for single ' people and $20,500 for couples. The Minister of Housing, Mr Hunt, said the limits, which exclude cars, furniture and personal belongings, last went up in September, 1988. The Housing Corporation gives local bodies and community groups money for pensioner flats. — PA. Officer hit A New Plymouth traffic officer suffered facial injuries in an incident in New Plymouth at the week-end. Senior-Sergeant Alvin Burr said an 18-year-old New Plymouth man was arrested after the altercation at Ngamotu Beach, 4km from the city. The traffic officer received medical treatment for his injuries. A man has been charged with assaulting a traffic officer, failing to stop when signalled, refusing to give his name and address and other driving offences.—PA.
