Officer hit A New Plymouth traffic officer suffered facial injuries in an incident in New Plymouth at the week-end. Senior-Sergeant Alvin Burr said an 18-year-old New Plymouth man was arrested after the altercation at Ngamotu Beach, 4km from the city. The traffic officer received medical treatment for his injuries. A man has been charged with assaulting a traffic officer, failing to stop when signalled, refusing to give his name and address and other driving offences.—PA.
