Principal nurse to be acting manager
The principal nurse of Christchurch Hospital, Miss Diana Barnes, will take over as acting manager of the hospital for a year from January 5. The position has been advertised as part of the restructuring of the Canterbury Area Health Board management, but a permanent appointment will not be made in the meantime. This will allow
the over-all management structure of the second-ary-care division to be explored. Unless the acting period is extended, Miss Barnes will return to the position of principal nurse after a year. She will receive nursing advice from the deputy principal nurse at Christchurch Hospital, Mrs Anna Whyte.
