Australian juniors dent S.I. hopes

A team from the Jack Newton Junior Golf Foundation in New South Wales beat the New Zealand Golf Federation’s South Island junior team in an international match at the Coringa course yesterday. The Australians won the match, 10-2. One of the outstanding feats of the day was provided by Aaron Byrnes, of Australia, who had a four under par second nine of 32 in his stroke play match against Paul Quickenden, of Nelson, yesterday afternoon. Byrnes had a round of 72 and Quickenden had a respectable 75.
