Negus fined $750

The Broadfield reinsman, Bob Negus, was yesterday fined $750 for failing to give out his horse, Another Kim, which finished second, in the North End Handicap Trot at the Geraldine Trotting Club’s meeting at Orari on November 25. This was the unanimous decision of Les Purvis (stipendiary steward in charge of the meeting), Des Gorrie (trainee stipendiary steward) and David Bray (Geraldine Trotting Club) at an adjourned inquiry in Christchurch yesterday. A second charge of failing to drive the horse on its merits was dismissed by the stipendiary panel.
