Queen leads parade

Auckland’s "Queen of Alexandra Park” for many years, Delightful Lady, is to lead the parade of starters for the Ansett N.Z. Centennial Auckland f Trotting Club on December 29. Delightful Lady wort back-to-back Auckland Cups in 1980 and 1981 in a career spanning 144 starts, which yielded 47 wins, a N.Z. record number of successes by one horse in this country. Now 16-years-old, Delightful Lady is being conditioned for cup night by the clerk of the Alexandra Park course, Alec McDonald, and one of her former trainers, Michael Stormont.
