Cup winner exempt
The winner of this Friday’s $60,000 C 9 and faster Thames Trotting Cup at Alexandra Park will, if entered, gain automatic entry into the $500,000 lAnsett N.Z. Auckland Centennial Cup field and be exempt from any ballot in the race. The Auckland Trotting Club has been approached by the Australian connections of Thorate (New South Wales), Earth Station (Queensland) and Riverlea Jack (Victoria) expressing interest to start their horses in the Auckland Centennial Cup. The connections of this trio all believe they have more than a runner’s chance in the prestigious 3200 pace.
