Goughs buys Transmix
A national heavyweight concrete mixer service is now provided by Gough, Gough and Hamer, the machinery and transport service company, which has bought the Transmix operation of Rheem New Zealand, including manufacturing plant, parts and repair service. Gough, Gough and Hamer has been a South Island manufacturer/distributor of Transmix for the last year. Goughs has expanded its manufacturing plant at Hornby in Christchurch, where the sophisticated mixer bowls are constructed. Gough branches in Christchurch and Auckland will handle repairs, modifications and other specialised Transmix
work. The company’s 15 service depots throughout the country are equipped to do maintenance and repair servicing.
“This means a mixer truck is within close reach of a depot, wherever in New Zealand it may break down or need servicing,” commented the South Island branch manager of Gough, Gough and Hamer, Mr Paul Wheeler. “It is a logical extension of our servicing operation for trucks and a wide range of other vehicles and machinery.” The head of the Transmix operation at Hornby is Mr Bill Cannell, formerly manager of Rheem subsidiary Rowe Engineering in Christchurch.
