Travel lightly with a modular wardrobe
HOLIDAY time is almost here. Whether you are escaping to the lake, the beach or the bach, picking and packing the right wardrobe is essential. Space is one consideration, but there is also the horror of arriving with the luggage still at departure point. With a modular wardrobe you carry everything. To travel lightly is to travel well. Start with essential basic — the bodyjuit. The principle is the same as the teddy — an all-in-one piece of underwear. witji-sna|) fastenings between thei legs/ Use underwear, swimsuit, stoop neck top. “Press, Fashion” opted for a stretch fabric bodysuit in a chefctreuse colour. Next, a pair eFwide;legged pants. The elastic waist ensures cemfort and an easy fit. Chiffbn or a simjfar weight is preferable if tfce. pants are to-doubled as beachwear mjnd cpdktaittowwr/ Again, we selected! chartreuse. For travelling vpu need a jacket We decided a man-style shirt would give more mileage. Better still, two manstyled shirts. Thd overshirt (or jacket) in coarse weave linen, in multi checks of chartreuse, white, jade, purple. The undershirt in plain a girl can never have enough , plain white shirts. They look good everyr where and anywhere. Especially when the shirt is white linen. J ? Everyone at soihe t|me needs a black silk skirt. Dinner at a restaurant, elevenses at friends, New Year’s Eve dances — a black silk skirt goes graciously from one to the other. The secret is in the accessories. We picked out a large cotton “pirate print” scarf that turns into a shawl, a headscarf, even a belt. A sundress? Now we get really clever and pull the black silk skirt up to meet the black shoestring straps of the bodysuit, wrap the pirate scraf around the waist and voila a sundress, a dancing dress or a little party number. Every holiday needs shorts! “Rugby” style shorts. String colour because they go with our colour scheme of chartreuse, black, white and look great with a tan. Seven small pieces and you have the holiday wardrobe. It will take you from camping ground to resort hotel. It packs easily and apart from the linen shirts is very easy care. Our modular wardrobe was all chosen from the racks at Metropole. Streetlife bodysuit, Streetlife palazzo pants. Workshop linen shirts. Jan Cook crushed silk skirt. Standard Issue shorts. “Jackie 0” glasses, snail earrings, pirate print scarf and Standard Issue shoes also from Metropole.
