Murder charge proven
Gisborne John Harold Creach was found guilty in the High Court at Gisborne yesterday on a charge of murder. Creach, aged 26, unemployed, was charged with murdering Kristen Elizabeth Price on April 5. He had pleaded not guilty to the charge. Mr Justice Henry told Creach: “There is only one sentence and that is life imprisonment.” Creach was represented by Mr Les Atkins- of Palmerston North, and Mr Robert Quilliam of Napier. The prosecutors were Mr Geoff Rea of Napier and Mr Phil Cooper of Gisborne. The jury retired at 10.45 a.m. and returned at 12.10 p.m.
