Coach waits for venue notification

Official notification of the date and venue of the boxoffs to decide the final Commonwealth Games boxing positions had still not been received by the Christchurch coach, Peter Beil, yesterday.

Mr Bell is the coach of Dean Calvert and Danny Morris, the two Canterbury boxers who have been asked to fight Nuka Wood (Northland) and Sililo Figota (Auckland) respectively, the

winners earning the final places in the Games team. The Canterbury trio leaves this morning for an eight-day training camp in Wellington and Mr Bell has only read in the news media that Tau-

ranga will be the venue for the fights on December 13. At the conclusion of the training camp he wants his fighters to return to Canterbury to rest for three days before the vital bouts.
