Manager spent years in trade
Murray Keates, the manager of Countdown Northlands, has a long background in the grocery trade both from a personal point of view by running his own dairy and also in a fruit and vegetable business. Employed with Countdown for the past seven years, he has been manager of Northlands for the past nine months during the total rebuilding stage. “Staff, customers and contractors have been great in the way they have worked together to ensure minimun inconvenience for all concerned,” he says. Before moving to Northland Murray Keates was manager of Countdown Sydenham for three years, manager at New Brighton for two years and before that was grocery manager and produce manager at Sydenham and New Brighton.
