Mr Richard Phillips, of Christchurch, with his IM4 Ford Mustang at the AU Ford Day at Queen Elizabeth II Park yesterday, which attracted a record entry, of MS cars. . The public was given the ~ chance to vote for its favourite r car at the show. The winner was * Sunliner convertible owtedby Graeme Trilo, with a IMS Zodiac, owned by Eric Scott, second, and a IM7 Mustang, oMed .by Roy Mcßobie, third. WMtetbing new at the Ford
; Day was a prize for those best dressed in period costume. . The owners of the cars were encouraged to dress in the style of dress appropriate to the age of their cars. The best dressed woman award went , to Kay ' Anderson, who dressed in 1159 s style to suit her Mark II Zephyr. Lloyd Bertie (19M V 8), won the men’s award., .The best English section was won by Eric Scott, with his IMS Ford Zodiac. A IM3 Ford Jhpri, r owned by, Mike. Talbot# was
second, and. a 1955 Mark li Zephyr convertible owned by Len and Sue Holmes was third. The best Australian section was won by Wayne Hibbs’ 1979 Falcon utility. : A 1949 Ford V 8 coupe utility owned by David and Caren Warman was second,- and a 1971 Falcon GT replica owned by David McSaveney was third. In the. best ’American section. Gall SpenceTs IMi Mnstang was first, Ashley Smith’s IM4 Mustang was aecond/ahd Kay.-Apderi son’s 1«M Mustang i was third.?
