Culinary creations on display

Food galore was displayed, by pupils at Saint Teresa’s Catholic Primary School, in Riccarton, to show parents and friends what they learned in six weeks studying health and food.

The health co-ordinator for the school, Ms Margaret Coleman, said children had been taught the health value of different food groups.

Yesterday’s food fair, where different breads, cereals, flours, milk drinks, cheese, pasta, vegetables and fruit were offered for tasting, was a culmination of facts learned by the children. To top it all off, the school’s principal, Mr Kevin Ford, got into the dirt, with good trousers, white shirt and tie, to help dig a hangi.
