Each position is .5 employment and for a suitable applicant it may be possible to combine the two half posts into a full time one, and therefore applicants should state clearly which of the two positions they are interested in or whether they would consider a combination. The first vacancy will be involved with establishing and developing a new position based at Ashburton Hospital. This will entail membership of a multidisciplinary team delivering psychological medicine services to the local area. A full knowledge and experience of assessment of disturbed individuals and a variety of therapy processes is expected. Initiative and innovative thinking and action is essential. The person may be based either in Christchurch or Ashburton and travel arrangements made. The second position is a locum post for up to one year in the Psychogeriatric Day Hospital based at Sunnyside Hospital. The present incumbent is on maternity leave.
