NZPA-Reuter Beirut Foreign peace marchers waving white flags fled the battle-scarred heart of Beirut at the week-end when gunmen fired mortars and rocketpropelled grenades across the Green Line dividing the Lebanese capital. The 15 members of the International Youth for Peace movement and about 10 Lebanese supporters had hoped to cross to Muslim west Beirut from the Christian east to plead the cause for peace. The group beat a hasty retreat.
