Reagan survives surgery
NZPA-Reuter Rochester The former United States president, Ronald Reagan, was making an excellent recovery yesterday, one day after undergoing surgery to remove fluid from his brain, his spokesman, Mark Weinberg, said. The surgery, performed under general anaesthesia, involved drilling a small hole in the skull and then draining the non-circulating blood or haematoma, a condition apparently caused by falling from a horse a few months ago.
The fluid was detected during a routine physical examination.
