Two die in collision Two people died when the cars they were driving collided in south Auckland at 8.30 p.m. on Saturday. They were George Ransfield, aged 34, of Point Chevalier, and Tai Heke, aged 47, of Manurewa. The police said a passenger from one vehicle was taken to Middlemore Hospital with moderate injuries. — PA. Volunteers wanted The Burwood Day Care for the Elderly Centre is looking for volunteers to help during the week. The centre is run in the grounds of the Burwood Hospital, by people from the community. Open every day during the week except Wednesdays, the centre has two coordinators, one of whom is a trained nurse. The chairman of the centre’s management committee, Mr. Bob Andrews, said volunteers were desperately needed, even if they came in for only a couple of hours once a week. Gang attacks house The New Brighton police are looking for a gang which attacked a Bexley Road house on Saturday, smashing 12 windows and the windscreen of a car. parked in the driveway. No-one was injured in the incident about 5 p.m. The police were alerted by a resident who reported about five or six men taking part in the smashing spree. The gang left in three vehicles before the police arrived.
