Nat. Con. income up
Diversified Australian manufacturer, National Consolidated, a member of the recently restructured Adelaide Steamship group of companies, has increased profits 43 per cent to sAust7s.7 million in the June year, largely on the back of investment income. Sales improved marginally to sAust472.4M, but the bulk of the profit stemmed from dividend and investment income up 61% to sAust7o.7M, from stakes in Adsteam associates such as David Jones and joint venture companies. Natcon will pay a final dividend of Austl2c, to lift its payment for the year to 43.5 c (87%), up 18c last year on an expanded capital base from a one-for-two rights issue.
