Going for Goals gains three big sponsorships
By
KAY FORRESTER
Going for Goals yesterday announced three sponsorships worth thousands of dollars to the organisation. The National Bank has offered the services of its research unit based in Wellington; New Zealand Post is finalising a deal to provide its services at discounted rates; A Christchurch car company, Topcars, has offered a car for the E.X.P.E.R.T. scheme. The Going for Goals’ executive director, Mr lan Shrimpton, said he was working with several local and national companies eager to be involved. The National Bank assistance would be particularly useful for goal setting by task forces where there was a need for statistics and future projections. The New Zealand Post package would be worth many thousands of
dollars, Mr Shrimpton said. The vehicle sponsorship from Topcars would get the E.X.P.E.R.T. scheme off to a good start. The scheme offers advice to small businesses from a pool of experts. It was a goal set by the business development task force. Mr Shrimpton said the trust to run the scheme was completing its articles of association and the scheme would begin soon. Mr Shrimpton said the Going for Goals core executive would soon include a youth representative. Enough enthusiasm and ideas for a separate youth task force had come from the Youth for Goals forum. Participants in the forum would be approached about being part of a youth action team, which would elect a representative to the executive.
