Airport closed
Fog closed Christchurch Airport for three hours yesterday, disrupting domestic air schedules and affecting the travel plans of about 1500 people. Although the airport was closed between 5.30 a.m. and 8.40 a.m., it was mid-afternoon before domestic flights were back,to normal. Air New Zealand was hardest hit by having to cancel eight Boeing 737 and six’friendship flights. Threfe Ansett flights were delayed, but none were cancelled. Three Mount Cook Airline flights were delayed.
