Maunganui upset
Christchurch United’s chances of retaining its national league soccer title received a boost last evening when the leader, Mount Maunganui, suffered its second loss in a week. Mount Maunganui had no answer to the attacking prowess of Waitakere which won, 3-0, at Western Springs through goals by Colin * Hulme (2) and Graham Cameron. Mount Maunganui’s championship lead has been reduced to five points over Napier, with Christchurch in third place a point further in arrears.
