Fiftieth anniversary of W.W.II

A season of war movies and documentaries will be screened on Television One this month to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the outbreak of World War IL

The war began on September 3, 1939, and abated six years later after the deaths of many soldiers and civilians throughout the world.

To acknowledge the major event in world history Television New Zealand will screen 21 feature films and documentaries throughout the month of September.

Most of the movies will screen on Saturday and Sunday nights as well as Saturday afternoons, while documentaries are scheduled for either Tuesday or Wednesday nights.

The movies include “The Dam Busters,”

“Cross of Iron,” “In Which We Serve,” “Tora Tora Tora” and “Reach for the Sky.”
