Jury inquest on cell death
NZPA Loidon The inquest on the New Zealander, Jeffery jtofe, who was found deal in his cell in London’s Brixton Prison five days ago will be opened on Sepember 4. However, after evidence of identification and cause of death the inquest will be (adjourned until November 7 for a full hearing before a jury. A police spokesmaa explained that the law required inquests pn people who died in prison or police custody to'be heard by a jury. j 1 A Home Offici spokesman yesterday confirmed that Rofe, who wis found with his shirt tied round his neck, died fron strangulation. I Rofe, of Otaki, Mas convicted at West London Magistrates Court in July 22 of criminal pamage after setting firmo his police cell. \ ■
