A new container ship the Prospect berthed in Lyttelton Harbour yesterday on its maiden voyage to the port. The 9949 ton vessel sails under the flag of the Japanese line N.Y.K. but is crewec by Filipinos during this voyage. While here the ship will discharge mixed cargo. The Prospect was built in Japan and her construction was completed in July. The Prospect and the Premier have replaced the Plata and the Planeta on the Persian Gulf, Asian and Pacific route and both ships are expected to visit New Zealand ports regularly. The Premier is expected to berth at Lyttelton for the first time in November. ARRIVALS Spirit of Competition (7 a.m.), 1600, Wellington (Pacifica). Prospect (2 p.m.), 9949, New Plymouth (Ascot).
