Mountain land advice
An independent committee has isen set up at Lincoln College to provide advice on mountain land use to the Minister for the Environment, Mr Palmer. The Mountain Land Committee will be chaired by Sir Clinton Roper. It replaces, in part, the Tussock Grasslands and Mountain Land Institute which merged with the Joint Centre for Environmental Sciences, later forming the Mountain Lands Institute. The committee will have a key role in advising the Government on the Land Act, Conservation Act review, resource management law reform and protected areas legislation.
