Pups found abandoned, hungry
Margaret Smith, of North Beach, with two abandoned puppies found by her brother, Mr David Hall, on Monday., Mr Hall, a Sumner butcher had heard whimpering sounds when he stopped his vehicle on the Summit Road to admire the view.
After investigating he found two puppies over the edge, down the cliff.
Mr Hall, who was on his way to make deliveries at Lyttelton said one of the puppies was still trapped in the sack.
The Labrador-German shepherd-cross pair had not eaten for about two weeks, and he was hoping to find homes for them. “I would love to keep them myself, but I don’t have room at my house,” he said.
