Independent candidate
Mrs Ann Lewis is seeking election as an independent candidate for the Canterbury Area Health Board in the Godley constituency. Mrs Lewis is also standing as an independent candidate for the Christchurch City Council in the Heathcote ward. She is a member of the Canterbury Health Coalition and has been active in the “save our hospitals” rally and the petition to the Minister of Health over funding in Canterbury. Mrs Lewis has worked at The Princess Margaret Hospital for the last 13 years. She says if elected she would resign to avoid any conflict of roles between being an elected member and employee.
